April 24, 2002 (pre trip)

It snowed again last night!

My favorite local cycling road was coated in ice this morning. Worse than that, it was COVERED with fresh gravel! I have a four hour training ride scheduled for tomorrow, and I’m not looking forward to taking my Elite out onto marbles!

I have decided that I really want to swim Whitefish lake my first day – which is looking like May 19. It’s 6 miles across and should take me around 3 hours to swim. I still need someone to accompany me though!
